An inspiring three weeks of contemporary dance will unfold on stages all around the city of Joburg, as the annual Dance Umbrella once again invites local choreographers and performers to showcase their talent.

New works, both local and international, can be seen at the Market Theatre, Dance Factory, The Goodman Gallery, Arts on Main and the Johannesburg Art Gallery. The programme will be jam-packed with fresh and exciting works.

The Dance Umbrella’s role in the development of contemporary dance in our country cannot be underestimated, and this annual South African platform also includes performances from youth and community groups — the efforts of both young choreographers and commissioned works from professional practitioners.
