garminGarmin is very excited to be a part of the KykNET Buite Ekspo, which will take place in Bela Bela in Limpopo from 22 to 25 September.

Although this will be the first outdoor expo of its kind in the Lowveld, it is based on the Buite Ekspo that was held in Swellendam in the Western Cape earlier this year. That event was so successful that organisers immediately knew that it needed to be brought to the outdoor-loving people of Gauteng and surrounding areas.

The event, which aims to promote outdoor living and camping in a safe environment within the family context, is expected to attract 3 000 campers over the weekend and an additional 7 000 to 8 000 visitors each day.

Activities on offer will include mountain biking, 4x4ing, fishing and Garmin’s two exciting geocaching challenges.

In these challenges, 25 treasures (caches) will be hidden around the expo grounds, and each cache will contain a clue to the next cache. Teams of four will be assigned a Garmin Outdoor Unit that will receive cryptic clues to help the teams in their hunt. Once a team finds a cache they will receive a trinket to prove their find. Each team will need to find eight out of a possible 25 caches, and the first team home with eight trinkets wins the grand prize.

Garmin’s sound rig will also be the entertainment in the dining area, and the Garmin exhibition stand will offer basic GPS training on automotive and outdoor products too.
