rwandaThe Voetspore team has been making steady progress on the Agulhas Alexandria expedition. Currently the six guys in their three Amaroks are halfway there. The journey had taken them from South Africa to Lesotho, Mozambique, Zambia, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda where they crossed the Equator.

The journey had been blessed with many highlights. Most prominent was the journey on the MV Liemba, ship that started sailing Lake Tanganyika 98 years ago. Getting the vehicles on was one seriously, nervous exercise. The cruise of three days was quite an experience. One of the great African adventures.

After the Liemba experience the team went to Rwanda. This was something of a surprise. The neatest country in Africa. At the border the police even confiscate all plastic bags. In Rwanda there is no corruption. Just a country recovering from the scars of the 1994 Genocide.

The country has lots to offer. There is the famous gorilla trekking. We went instead for chimpanzee trekking in the Nyungwe Forest Reserve. A fantastic experience.

rwandaAfter Rwanda the team entered Uganda to visit the Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the crown jewels of game parks in Africa.
