workoutSpring is next month, can you believe it? Never mind the fact that it’s still snowing in some parts of South Africa. If you’re like me, you’re probably not that bothered because you’re hiding under mounds of paperwork, making sure deadlines are met before the holidays roll around and who cares what you look like, especially since all you are trying to do at the moment, is stay warm.

This time of the year is what I like to call the winter thaw. If you’re lucky, you’ve managed to keep up with your exercise routine in a desperate attempt to prolong last year’s summer, but now it feels like this year’s summer is just too far away and the thaw is melting away all your motivation to do anything!

That is why Adventure Boot Camp insists on staying open all year round! Getting into shape and maintaining it is something that takes dedication and hard work every month of the year. With Garmin, ABC ladies also get to enjoy the added benefit of a 15% discount on selected Garmin products available on their online store. So you can train with a heart rate monitor that can guide you as to what your needs are in order to lose weight, build and maintain fitness levels. Adventure Boot Camp training takes place outdoors which certainly keeps your spirits high and is a huge motivating factor when trying to survive the winter thaw.

Camps take place outdoors and ladies can choose to attend camp 3 or 5 days/week, for one hour a day, in the morning or late afternoon. ABC is differentiated from your regular gym because we make use of the natural obstacles found in the immediate environment to ensure you get a diverse, full body workout. All routines are performed under the watchful eye of a qualified personal trainer who provides a stimulating variation in every session to alleviate the monotony of doing the same workout every day. The regular workout rotation also serves to target and strengthen muscles, which are often missed in a “regular gym” workout.

Exercises are specifically designed to target the areas women want to improve on most and these activities include short distance running, rope skipping, abs and core training, Pilates, obstacle courses, circuit training, weights, mat work, games and hiking. It’s a great way to get outdoors, network with other women and make new friends. Progress can be tracked and free personalized eating plans can be downloaded to help you start your journey to health and wellness.

Take charge of what you’ll be flaunting this summer by signing up for our next camp, register online at www.AdventureBootCamp.co.za or call our national head office on 021 447 2746/ 082 567 2267.
