Tech - Gaming & DVD Reviews
onlineCalling FIFA the best game in the world is not entirely true, but it is the best sports game of all time, and we’ve always been a fan of the football franchise. If there is one game we give a thorough run-through, it’s FIFA — after all, we play it for 12 months!
You’d think it is hard to give a complex review to a game with no storyline, but we could tell you how amazing FIFA is for a full magazine and still not get through it all. This year EA Games have added a few new elements to the game that takes it to the next level.
The game play itself has developed into a real simulation of the finest football on the planet. The tackling is no longer a matter of tapping a few buttons and getting the ball away from your opponent, now things like timing, position and precision is what will win you the ball.
The real developments though are in the online offerings — such as the addition of global leagues, most supported teams and ranks of their fans and the “Ultimate Team.”
You can manage all your squads and optimise the chemistry of your line-ups from anywhere where internet is available of course. You can build a club, trade players and play against others in a massive online community. It’s a bit sad that South Africans don’t play more games online, as this element of FIFA 12 puts all other sports games to shame! (Score 98%)
